My team and I set out to create a prediction platform that pushed the envelope in terms of a stock trend forecast. Instead of testing predicted stock prices with a test set to check the accuracy of our LSTM model, we decided to forecast the actual trend of the stock price for the next month. Our model provided accurate, reproducible results, that were correlated with the output of our sentiment analysis model; mapping market sentiment of any given company using twitter. We also integrated a dummy trading platform on our web-app, allowing users to perform dummy buy/sell orders. The user can then view their portfolio of stocks.
